Pumpkin Carving Spooktacular returns to Berkshire Athenaeum
The Berkshire Athenaeum will host its annual Pumpkin Carving Spooktacular on Oct. 24 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., offering free pumpkins, carving stations, crafts and a scavenger hunt for families.
The Town of Pittsfield announced Oct. 9 that the Berkshire Athenaeum, the city's public library, will hold its annual Pumpkin Carving Spooktacular on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Families are invited to the library for the event, which brings a pumpkin patch indoors. Participants can select a free pumpkin and bring it to a carving station set up in the library's auditorium, where tools and supplies will be provided to create a jack-o'-lantern. The event will also include craft stations, snacks and a scavenger hunt. Youth and families are encouraged to wear costumes.
The release noted that the last pumpkin carving session will begin at 12:30 p.m., so attendees are urged not to be late.
Ashlyn Castonguay, a local parent, said in the release, "We look forward to the Pumpkin Carving Spooktacular every year. My older children love carving, and my youngest is old enough to paint a pumpkin this year. The best part is that I don't need to set up or clean up, it's all taken care of."
The event is made possible through contributions from Friends of the Berkshire Athenaeum.
