Zoning Board grants fencing permit but denies eight-foot variance.

Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of May 20, 2026

Pittsfield Zoning Board approves partial fencing permit, denies eight-foot variance. The board voted four to one to grant a special permit for chain link fencing over three feet in the front yard at 7 Trova Terrace and four to zero to allow a six-foot solid fence section, but unanimously denied Dr. Arturo Aguillon's request for an eight-foot solid barrier after neighbors including City Councilor Dina Lampiasi objected to the height and visual impact.

Chair Albert Ingegni III and the board also discussed the Form-Based-Code expansion with City Planner Kevin Rayner, who noted the Downtown Creative District has successfully piloted the approach and plans to expand it into the Westside neighborhood.
