West Nile Virus Confirmed in Pittsfield Mosquitoes at Three Sites
PITTSFIELD — Health officials have confirmed West Nile virus in mosquitoes collected at three locations around Pittsfield, according to two City of Pittsfield News Flash alerts posted today. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health identified a positive sample from mosquitoes trapped on outer West Street near Lillybrook Road, along with earlier isolations at the Pittsfield-Richmond town line on Route 41 and at Garland Avenue.
