Historical Commission approves three demolition applications in one meeting
Historical Commission · Meeting of January 12, 2026
Pittsfield Historical Commission unanimously approves three demolitions in single meeting. Chair John Dickson and board members voted to allow removal of 86 John Street (built 1893), the Wahconah Park Grandstand (1949), and 136 Linden Street (1885). The Wahconah Park project includes a new grandstand designed by SK Design that will maintain the same footprint along first and third base lines while meeting all building codes and ADA accessibility standards; demolition is targeted for April.
Richard Solis plans to construct low-income housing on the Linden Street site, with construction expected to begin in late spring.
