Community Development Board approves group-home site plan, rejects parking proposal.
Community Development Board · Meeting of January 20, 2026
Pittsfield Community Development Board rejects proposed parking for group home on safety grounds. The board unanimously approved a site plan for Clinical & Support Options, Inc. at 24 Ann Drive to operate as a group home but voted to reject the applicant's proposed on-site parking layout after residents including Mark and Kathleen Amusso of 147 Alfred Drive and James Conant raised concerns about ongoing congestion and sight-line hazards on adjacent streets. Chair Sheila Irvin and board member Matthew Herzberg stated the proposed plan did not resolve safety issues.
The board also unanimously approved two subdivision determinations, two special permits for Downtown Creative District properties, and a site plan for a mural at Durant Park.
