Pittsfield's Affordable Housing Trust unanimously approved $120,000 in additional ARPA funding for two projects facing cost overruns. Chair Michael McCarthy and Vice Chair Justine Dodds steered amendments to existing contracts with Westside Legends and Habitat for Humanity, allocating $70,000 for Westside Legends' 70 Dewey Avenue project and $50,000 for Habitat's Curtis Terrace development. Carolyn Valli, CEO of Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity, reported the Trust's three funded projects have delivered or placed eight homes in the pipeline, with Habitat highlighting partnerships with Taconic and ongoing work to reduce construction costs and identify sustainable models for accessory dwelling units.
